Jordan

Jordan is a Middle Eastern country bordered by Israel, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. It is best known for Petra, the ancient Nabatean city carved into rose-coloured rock, and for the vast desert landscapes of Wadi Rum. Amman, the capital, is a modern city built on ancient foundations and serves as a gateway to the country’s historical and natural sites. Arabic is the official language and the Jordanian dinar is used. English is widely understood in the tourism sector. Jordan is politically stable and considered one of the safest countries in the region. Transport infrastructure is decent, though hiring a car or using private tours offers greater flexibility. The Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, offers a unique natural experience, while the Red Sea resort town of Aqaba is known for diving and snorkelling. Jordan has a desert climate with hot summers and mild winters.
